Hello!! I am updating this blog with my long (nearly two months) overdue stories from Thailand. Breathing in the Bruneian air makes me reminisce the moments i had with Jastina whilst in Chiang Mai. There was this one time where we were so stressed with our school work and decided to just go out and enjoy the 'summer' breeze as we decided to roam around town and explore the interesting cultural capital of Chiang Mai. Question is, when you're bored out of your mind, what would you do to have fun? You go to a park! Wow. interesting, PE! Haha. We arrived there around noon and decided to stroll in this gorgeous park named Suan Buak Haad Park. As we walked in, we saw people, mostly tourists, laying on the green grass and enjoying the sun. Some had picnic, some buried themselves with their non-fiction books and some played hoolla hoops while others just stare into space, breathing in and out, indulging every inch of scenery of the gorgeous park. After strolling down the path, we decided to sit at a bench near the pool, eyeing on cuties nearby. Grindr was on for obvious reasons; on for the look out.
Not long after or should i say, after feeling sweats dripping down my back, I suggested to walk and wander in the small streets to look for some historic monuments. Five minutes later, we found ourselves in this Indie coffee shop that serves iced coffee and most importantly, air-conditioned. I couldn't say NO to that. I opened my map and browsed through the tiny lines of roads to mark our way out from the small streets - we managed to find some interesting places to go along the way- but mostly are temples. Fortunately, i remember this particular temple as recommended by Trip Advisor as it listed #1 of places to visit in Chiang Mai. It is located near the Tha Phae gate and i promise you, the place was picturesque. Before reaching to that place, we went to different ones to check just in case, we didn't miss any. The architecture was detailed and full with stories. I don't know what exactly but it was like telling a story to its visitors as colours filled in the voids.
It was funny when we found ourselves at the streets of prison rehabilitation centre, or was it, mental institutions. We laughed our asses off when we saw a couple of orange-coloured coveralls. After passing that place, we then found ourselves at the Three Kings monument. I thought to myself, ' wow i cant believe we walked that far and how the hell putting those institutions or centre at the center of the city. lol. It was funny, nonetheless. As of now, i am dripping wet - my hair was shiny and brilliantly combed back just like the Gatsby, so to speak.
And then, monumental thing happened. We arrived at the Wat Chedi Luang temple.
