"That 10-hour city tour"
From the tittle itself, you'd expect something awesome. Something you could be jealous of. Nop. You're wrong! Apart from being sweat throughout the tour, that 10 hours of city touring was not that interesting. We covered 5 places only and those places are:
1. Fpt Birthday Celebration.
Fpt corporation, not just the uni but also some other divisions, celebrated their birthday in this huge space some like to call stadium or in my favourite words, open sauna. The weather turned from blazing hot to dripping wet in a split second. I know by now you discovered that September is not a good time to visit Hanoi. During the celebration, there were a huge stage in the middle of the stadium, surrounded by 3 big circus-like tents. You can see vendors selling crappy food, participants practicing their act and then, there's us - running around the place, looking for some insta-worthy shots. The performance I have to say were really shitty as this one group attempted to dance to Britney's toxic with a stewardess outfit on. Honey, if you cant dance, don't dance.
2. Panasonic
Panasonic was my favorite. As we arrived, we were divided into four groups which they soon realized it was a useless thing to do due to the fact that we dispersed once we discovered something interesting. Bruneians do love their rights. Haha! We were amazed with the advanced technologies that Panasonic offered; Technologies from beauty products to its superb washing machine. It was exhilarating to see how these bad boys look awesome and can help to reduce energy consumption around the world. The guide demonstrated the differences between two bulbs, how one locates the position of water can make a difference and explained the products they use have low voltage. Besides that, what amazes me the most in the showroom was how Panasonic shows the differences of the world's condition in terms of its temperature with the activities we contributed to global warming. The colour of the world now varies as it turns orangey-red when it hits 2014. To compare, it was green in colour in the year 1989.
Well, i'm not done yet. Panasonic has also allowed us to use its RiSuPia which is like OGDC but way more advanced. We were not allowed to take pictures in the room but i remember vividly as the room is divided into different sections from Science area, Maths area, Water Consumption area, Discovery Base, Quest library and even Magical Performance Theater. It was awesome. I swear the room looks like those science lab in the movies. All white and clean.
3. Lunch @ A vegetarian restaurant where everything is made from Tofu and tasted weird. I never like vegetables except some but this was too much.
4. Museum
What can i say about it? Different countries have different types of museums - showing different cultures and interesting histories. During my visit, i found myself scared as how there are many old paintings of sad woman and huge statues of monks that are showcased all over the museum. The museum showcased both modern n classic paintings. It wasnt that interesting but the people i was with made the trip more fun. You can tell by the pictures that we were not really into their history. Hee..
5. Temple
I have never been to a temple before but i have to agree that the temple in Hanoi is beautiful. It was calming to see green everywhere. The architecture was simply gorgeous. People come there to visit, to have pre-wed photo shoots, to just relax, to see the entertainment (violin) and of course, to pray. During my visit, i had a couple of pictures with my friends. It's nice to see different cultures & religion practicing their unique way of life. It was never boring when the four of us were there. With Nazurah by your side, things can go out of control.
We were happy it ended. We were supposed to go to another temple but we were bored by then & decided to please the guide to send us back to our dorm.
Till next time, readers, if there's any. if you re reading this, please comment. xo. Labels: City tour, first university, fpt celebration, museum |
